Vision boards

'Your wishes are just memories from the future'

I have never created a vision board before but this year I was really inspired to create one for 2024. I figured it will help kickstart my goals and visions for the new year. It's a new experience I'm trying for myself and you should try to. Let's learn and experience it together.

What exactly is a vision board?

A vision board is a collection or group of images, objects or affirmations that helps one create a vision of who they are working to be and start a real manifestation process.

The board can be physical or digital according to your comfortability.

Most of us struggle to get a pinpoint of what we want or where we want to be because we lack or rather get scared to have a vision.

Personally I think vision boards help in keeping track of your visions or what you are working towards to.

Vision boards require manifestation and manifestation is basically the idea of attracting your dream to a reality. That's where the phrase 'being delulu is the solulu' came from.

The vision board goes hand in hand with manifestation since the board helps identify what you want and belief in your own ability to make your delusions a reality.

Vision boards are versatile. They can be used to manifest and attract your personal goals or create a visual representation of the person you want to become. It can also be used to set your professional goals in a company or business.

Vision boards can be a long term goal or yearly depending on what you are trying to achieve.

The placement of the board is determined by where one can easily access oftenly to remind you what exactly you are working for.

How to make a vision board

There is actually no rules in making a vision board. It is basically using your creativity to craft something that will inspire you to realize that you are meant to experience your dream. You don't need a a certain formula to create one. It all depends on how you visualize on how your future is going to be.

As I said earlier, vision boards can be either long term or yearly. Depending with how you vision your life, your vision board can focus on one singular idea or multiple ideas of what you might want your future self to experience.

Here are some tips to help you create your own vision board;

  • Priority questions

'what do I want?'

'what do I need?'

'what do I value?'

It is important to ask yourself these questions when creating a vision board. Through that you are clearly able to answer the priority questions that will be a good guide to the content that will be on the vision board.

  • Theme

Focus on the theme or aesthetics of what you want your vision board to look like. Personally my vision board theme is 'future me is real' . You can use that if that's what your vision board is all about or come up with a specific theme for your board depending on what you are going to focus on.

Some taglines include;

'being that girl'

'becoming her'

' I deserve the desires of my heart'

  • Having categories on your board.

Reflect on your life and figure out the categories of your life that you actually want to work on. That helps in determining what type of theme you need for your vision board.

Categories you can work on can include:

  • Career

  • Family

  • Religion

  • Financial

  • Physical

  • Travel

  • Relationships

  • Self care

When it comes to asthetics you can design your board however you like it.

  • Write down your goals.

Creating specific goals that align with your dreams helps in knowing what your vision board will consist of. Research talks about setting realistic goals or using the S.M.A.R.T method during goal setting. This will help you to stay on course and also not to feel overwhelmed.

  • Deciding whether you want to create a digital or physical vision board

Whatever vision board you chose for yourself is up to you. I personally went with a digital board coz it doesn't take a lot of time but if you love being creative you can create a physical one just to hang it in your room with whatever asthetics you use. It can be a good room decor piece too.

  • Find inspiration

You can go through any social media app to get an understanding of what you are creating. Personally I used Pinterest to get inspiration for my vision board. You can also use Google, Instagram and any other to find an inspiration.

  • Creating and assembling.

You create and assemble your vision board depending on what type of board you are going to create. For digital vision boards you need an app where you can create one (I used Canva) , pictures of what you would insert on your board (I used Pinterest and Instagram) , and an imagination of what you want your board to look like.

For physical boards you will need a blank board itself, papers, scissors, source of pictures of which you can also print out of the internet, frames and also an imagination of how you want your board to consist of.

You can also edit it as the year goes on.

  • Preview, visualize and believe

It is possible to make your vision board a reality. It's neither magic nor does it happen overnight.

Your mind creates your life. Allowing yourself to imagine and believe in your dreams actually give you the motivation to take an active step to making your manifestation a reality. You are basically attracting your dream life and connecting them to your real life.

And there's actually no point of creating goals if you don't believe in them.

I'm here to challenge you to create a vision board as a way to reset for the new year. May all your delulus come trululu in this coming new year. Manifesting the best year for us loves.
