How are you feeling that the year is finally over? Joyful, overwhelmed or just normal? Are you ready for a new year?
Despite of everything that has happened in the past year, you can still take time to prepare to tackle new goals and big dreams.
Today's blog is a guide to help you reset your frame of mind, reflect on what has happened in the past year and recharge your batteries so that you can start a new year with a solid plan. So if this year wasn't so great for you, you have a chance to make it good and if it was a good year for you, this is a chance to make it better.
To ensure that you are calm during this time, I'm going to share with you a few ways on how you can reset, reflect and recharge.
Ways to reset, reflect and refresh for a new year
Unfollow and unsubscribe

This basically means getting rid of excess baggage by decluttering from your social media feeds and unsubscribing from uninspiring content.
Knowing what to let go of

Think of those commitments, relationships, bad habits that are not letting you grow as a person and let go of them. This creates more balance and contentment.
Recharge your batteries

Allow yourself to rest. You have done so much for the year and you did well. Putting yourself in a position where you lose sleep and neglect your health is not going to help. Take a step back, stop rushing and give yourself time to breathe before the new year.
Reflect on your productivity and time management

Productivity is really important because it helps you catch up with your projects and tasks on time. So if your current productivity method hasn't been working out, you can always change on that. Learn when and how you are most productive and create a strategy for that.
Learn how to improve on relationships

We can agree that some relationships haven't been the best and we will obviously make new relationships this new year. Reflect on how you've been socializing with people. Think about those you spend your time with and those you rarely see.
Check on your daily routine

If you have decided to be doing various activities in your life that you feel are important, you need to balance simply by scheduling. With this you need a formula for getting you out of bed in the morning and going through the day.
Define and revisit core values

This core values are your guiding principles for everything that you do. Make a five core values list that can help you make tough decisions.
Decide what you'll make time for

Look for activities, commitments and people that will be your first priorities. This is determined by how they contribute to or deprive you of that feeling of enjoying the year.
Why is resetting important?

Mental health is so important since battling with your own mind can be hard. And in order to take care of your mind, you need to take care of yourself so that basically means that everything starts with you. Planning for a new year is tough since everything is changing but you need to plan for a future so that your goals can set right. This can help you put the focus on the aspects of your life that you can easily alter and change to bring you peace of mind and happiness.
What you'll find is that the sooner you start to reset, the sooner you'll find internal happiness that you'll showcase proudly to others
If you want to reset for the new year and you don't know where to start here are a few journal prompts that will help.
List the things you’ve achieved
List all your favourite memories from the past year
List the things you want to let go of
List your hopes and dreams
List your biggest goals for the next year
Choose at least one thing that will get you out of your comfort zone
List the things and people most important to you
List the habits you want to break
List the habits you’d like to build

Journaling or writing lists on the above topics will help to break down the year in a way that you can easily digest. You’ll be able to smile and realise all you have achieved as well as properly focusing on what you want from the future.
Happy new year♥️🎉
